Tahir Johnson

Director of Social Equity and Inclusion at the Marijuana Policy Project

Born and raised in Ewing, NJ Tahir Johnson is a national leader in social equity policy and programs. Recognized by NJ.com as one of the top 22 people, institutions and trends that will play a pivotal role in shaping the Garden State’s cannabis space in 2022 he was recently awarded one of the first conditional dispensary licenses in the state. 

He currently serves as Director of Social Equity and Inclusion at the Marijuana Policy Project where he developed and launched an internship program in partnership with the Congressional Black Caucus foundation placing interns at some of the most prominent companies in the industry. He advises legislators, regulators, and other industry stakeholders on best practices to ensure equitable cannabis laws and programs. 

Prior to transitioning into cannabis, Tahir spent most of his career in Wealth Management and had clients that included corporate executives, entertainers, business owners, and other high-net-worth individuals. He began his career with Morgan Stanley where he served on the Diversity Council.
