What to Expect
Each participant will receive a special gift bag containing many different cannabis accessories, products, golf balls, tees, and other apparel. The tournament is in the friendly “4-person scramble” format, making it fun for everyone, no matter your golf skill level! Everyone will ride in their own carts for social distancing. After the event, we will also feature a raffle
during our awards ceremony.
Top teams and winners of our on the course contests will receive fun cannabis-related prizes! We have reserved room blocks
at the Ojai Valley Inn as well, if you’d like to stay Thursday or Friday night around the tournament.
You can find the room rates in our ticket options.
Location
Nestled in the bohemian enclave of Ojai, the world-class Ojai Country Club was one of the first great golf courses in Southern California. Designed and originally built in 1923 under the direction of George C. Thomas, Jr. and Billy Bell, the course was hailed as "a marvel of golfing architecture." Thomas, who also designed courses at the Riviera, Bel-Air and Los Angeles country clubs, had two initial considerations for the Ojai course: "...that the average golfer could enjoy his round without too great a penalty, and that a test must be afforded requiring the low-handicap man to play fine golf in order to secure pars."
Charity Beneficiaries
Last Prisoner Project (LPP) is an advocacy organization made up of cannabis industry leaders, executives and artists dedicated to making sure that every cannabis prisoner is released, welcomed home and supported by their community. LPP is focusing its efforts on clemency and expungement, re-entry programs and advocacy. As the United States moves away from the criminalization of cannabis, giving rise to a major new industry, there remains the fundamental injustice inflicted upon those who have suffered criminal convictions and the consequences of those convictions. Through intervention, advocacy and awareness campaigns, the forces behind the Last Prisoner Project will work to redress the past and continuing harms of these unjust laws and policies and are dedicated to making sure that every last cannabis prisoner walks free. Visit www.lastprisonerproject.org or text FREEDOM to 24365 to donate and learn more.
Root & Rebound’s mission is to restore power and resources to the families and communities most harmed by mass incarceration through legal advocacy, public education, policy reform and litigation—a model grounded in the needs and expertise of people who are directly impacted. R&R was founded in California in 2013 by a small group of civil rights attorneys who set out to understand how they could best support the tens of thousands of people being released from prison and jail each year in navigating the 48,000 legal barriers they now faced with a criminal record. R&R’s vision has always been to scale this legal support to create better outcomes for the 1 in 3 Americans with a criminal record.
